T. 37/2000 15 May 2000 To: The President The Stock Exchange of Thailand Re: Change of Operating Results BJC notifies sales for the three months ended 31 March 2000 were Baht2,764 million, a 1% increase over the comparative period in 1999. Whilst sales of consumer products grew by 17% in the first quarter of 2000, compared with the prior year, fuelled by substantially greater volumes of tissue paper and improved snack foods sales, sales of packaging products fell compared with 1999 as anticipated due to decreased demand for glass containers. Net income for the first quarter of 2000 fell by 24%, impacted by lower gross margin primarily due to the lower level of glass container production in the period as planned furnace rebuilds were carried out.
