CHANGE OF OPERATING RESULTS

Ref. T. 46/2000 14 November 2000 To: The President The Stock Exchange of Thailand Re: Change of Operating Results BJC notifies Consolidated sales for the third quarter of 2000 were Baht 2,895 million, an increase of 5% over the same period in 1999. Sales of Consumer Products, particularly tissue paper, enjoyed a 21% growth between the comparative periods, whilst sales of Technical and Imaging Products registered a 25% improvement, mainly in the imaging equipment and medical products sectors. However, as anticipated, sales of Packing Products declined by 17% between the comparative periods due mainly to re-usage of glass containers by major customers. Net income for the third quarter of 2000 was Baht 119.4 million, a 27% decrease from the same period in 1999, as margins were impacted across all business lines by rising raw material costs and the declining value of the Baht. On 13 October 2000, the Company paid an interim dividend of Baht 15.75 per share, equivalent to a total of Baht 2,501 milion, in line with its previously stated objective of improving shareholder returns. Yours faithfully, BERLI JUCKER PUBLIC COMPANY LIMITED David John Nicol President
