This result was due in part to the use of proceeds from the Company's capital raising during the year, which enabled a reduction in interest costs by decreasing debt by Baht1.4 billion and the acquisition of an additional 32 percent of Thai Glass Industries Public Company Limited, and also to investment disposal gains and the absence of significant foreign exchange losses recorded in a subsidiary in 1997.
