BERLI JUCKER ANNOUNCES P.T. DYNAPLAST INVESTMENT IN BERLI PROSPACK Berli Prospack Company Limited ('BPC'), a joint venture between Berli Jucker Public Company Limited ('Berli Jucker') and the Prospack Group, announced today that an agreement has been reached for P.T. Dynaplast of Indonesia to invest in BPC. BPC is one of the most advanced manufacturers of rigid plastic containers in Thailand. Under the terms of a Shareholders' Agreement dated April 28, 2000, Dynaplast will acquire a 49% interest in BPC by investing B 134 million (US$ 3.5 mm) cash in BPC. The transaction will increase BPC's equity and the funds will be used to invest in additional machinery and equipment to further support BPC's key customers and reduce debt, making BPC even more competitive. Dynaplast will also have the option to acquire further shares in BPC within 2 years of completion of this transaction . P.T. Dynaplast is a publicly listed company and the largest rigid plastic container manufacturer in Indonesia. In 1999, it reported consolidated sales of Rp 197 billion (US$ 25 mm) and consolidated net profits of Rp. 28 billion (US$ 3.6 mm). These results exclude P.T. Summitplast, where Dynaplast is in joint venture with Sumitomo of Japan. Dynaplast serves a diversified market with a wide range of products --- bottle packaging for the consumer goods, pharmaceutical, chemical and motor oil industries; plastic components for the automotive battery, electronics and home domestic appliance industries; and plastic sheets for the food and beverage industries. The Prospack Group, owned by the Sriprasert family, has been involved in the plastic blow moulding, injection moulding, and mould manufacturing business since 1991. The Dynaplast investment will enhance the current strategies of BPC. There will be no changes in the management and staff of the company, except the addition of a very experienced Dynaplast officer as Technical Adviser to BPC.
