15 May 2002 To: The President The Stock Exchange of Thailand Re: Change of Operating Results BJC notifies consolidated net income for the first quarter of 2002 was Baht 219.3 million, representing a 57% increase from the first quarter of 2001. Consolidated sales revenues for the first quarter of 2002 were Baht 2,868 million,an increase of 10% over the comparative period in 2001, especially packaging business. The Group's gross profit margin for the first quarter of 2002 at 29.3 % was an improvement over the 25.9 % gross profit margin realized in the first quarter of 2001. In aggregate, our margins have benefited from increased utilization in our packaging and tissue paper businesses and from lower raw material and energy costs. In January 2002, Company had income of terminated interest swap contract of Baht 17.9 million after tax.
