27 February 2003 To: The President The Stock Exchange of Thailand Re: Change of Operating Results Berli Jucker Public Company Limited notifies consolidated sales for 2002 were Baht 11,866.6 million, a 6% increase over 2001 mainly came from Consumer and Packaging businesses. The Group's gross margin increased from 27% in 2001 to 29% in 2002. The increase was due to the higher sales thus reflected an improved manufacturing costs. The Group's net income for the year 2002 was Baht 679.1 million, a 126% increase from the net income in 2001. In 2001, the change of control expenses were paid to certain employees to fulfill contractual requirements of their employments as a results of the management change arising from the sales of the Company's shares by a major shareholder including other related costs totaling net after tax of Baht 406.7 million. Apart from this, the Company gained from the disposal of investment in Thai Klinipro Company Limited totaling net after tax of Baht 120.3 million.
