24 February 2004 To: The President The Stock Exchange of Thailand Re: Change of Operating Results BJC notifies the Group's net income for the year of 2003 was Baht 1,185.8 million, 75% increased from 2002. The increase was primarily due to 15 % increasing of sales in 2003 to Baht 13,604.8 million compared to Baht 11,866.6 million in 2002. Increased sales mainly came from Packaging and Consumer products businesses. Jump in net profit was also a result of cost savings in depreciation charges for some furnaces and machines in Bangplee factory of Thai Glass Industries Public Company Limited, which were fully depreciated during the year. In additional, the Group's lower net income in 2002 was affected from provision for loss in diminution of investment and loan to a related company of Baht 209.4 million.
